The wrong shampoo...
Shampoo will either make or break your color longevity. Some ingredients to avoid: Sodium Laureate Sulfate, Sodium Laurel Sulfate. These ingredients are added to shampoo because they are cheap foaming agents but they will stirp your color almost instantly! They are also linked to damage of the hair follicle and scalp irritation. We pride ourselves on offering the best quality ingredients for your hair. Please don't hesitate to ask for a recommendation.
We recommend UNITE, Olaplex or any other color safe professional line. To protect your investment please do not purchase products from Amazon etc to ensure product quality.
*After your color service please wait 48 hours to shampoo to allow your cuticle to close-this will help your color last longer.
*Washing your hair less frequently and using tepid water will also help color fading
*Cool water rinse after conditioning closes the cuticle of the hair, locking in color and adding shine

Sun Exposure
Protecting your skin from the sun is just as important as protecting your hair! Sunscreen for your hair?? YES!! Many of our products have built in UVA/UVB protectants in them to keep your new color safe.
Hard Water
Hard water is water with a high mineral content. High mineral content can cause extreme color fading, buildup on the hair and scalp and brittle hair. How to fix it?
Install a filtered showered to help lessen exposure. Our favorite from Amazon is linked here
Clarify your hair weekly with a color safe shampoo. We recommend Malibu Well Water Shampoo & Conditoner or Malibu Hard Water Packets.
Get demineralizing treatments in the salon. This will also help prep your hair for color services by removing any minerals that can cause chemical reactions or your lightener to work properly.
